In the Tangent Universe, nothing is the same as in the DC Universe except the names, and the greatest name of all is Superman. In this segment of DC's second run of comics set in the Tangent Universe in 1998, Superman is not a strange visitor from another planet, but an even stranger product of a eugenics experiment by the secret government agency Nightwing. Thought to be a failure, Harvey Lee Dent grew up normally without anything unusual happening, until as a police officer, he survived a fall from a skyscraper. Since then, his mind and body advanced exponentially, beyond the cares and ken of any other human or superhuman. Their problems were no longer his, except as puzzles to be solved. His wife, however, had the biggest problem of all to resolve…how to keep from losing him.
