Speed Racer: Return of the GRX

Very few cars have ever beaten the Mach 5, Speed Racer’s fabled automobile. One such car, however, was powered by the experimental “GRX” engine, invented by Ben Cranium. The engine actually went too fast, and Ben died driving the first car powered by it. The engine later appeared in a car driven by Ben’s son, Curly. In order to cope with the high speeds, Curly would inhale a special “V-Gas” which accelerated his reflexes to match. Speed himself tried driving the superfast car under the influence of V-Gas, but the drug was more than his mind could bear. Speed nearly crashed, and required intense therapy to get over the fear of high speeds that the experience had left him with. Curly, however, was not so lucky and was involved in a fatal crash.

But now, the GRX is back, having been recreated by the other son of Ben Cranium. It’s a cinch that the GRX can beat Speed in a race—but what price will be paid for victory?
