Michael Jordan Tribute

The distinctly unflattering cover highlighting a slavering Jordan slam-dunking is indicative of a seedy comic better labeled a cash-in than a tribute. Clichés abound in the cramped biographical run-through of Jordan’s career, and, if anything, the succeeding strip about the Olympic basketball “Dream Team” is even worse, being a montage of illustrated news clippings and highlight tapes with no emotional resonance. That the final page of this second story is seemingly excised to be replaced by a poorly conceived gag strip about Dream Team members, other than Jordan, confirms the shoddy status of this effort.
