Doctor Strange, sorcerer supreme, is losing control of his hands. The deterioration of his motor function has driven him to seek the help of medical science. Yet this is the least of his problems, as he appears to be losing his mystical powers as well.

When a skinless man robs a bank and disintegrates bystanders using black magic, Doctor Strange cannot even sense the mystical remnants. And when he faces the skinless man in the flesh, his spells fail to work at all.

Meanwhile, the lovely Topaz has been abducted and converted to a demonic order by a mysterious man named Jonathon. Jonathon’s followers number in the millions, and after twelve long years, his circle of apostles is complete. What evil plans does he have in store for the world, and can the powerless mage stop him?
