Revolver

Revolver was a short-lived but well-regarded anthology series, published by Fleetway Editions between 1990 and 1991. Revolver aimed beyond the science-fiction territory that Fleetway plumbed with their 2000 A.D. series and strove toward more eclectic stories. Standouts included the psychedelic Rogan Gosh, and Grant Morrison’s deconstruction of Dan Dare (a space hero who figured prominently in the early issues of 2000 A.D.). Other regular features of Revolver included Paul Neary and Steve Parkhouse’s Happenstance and Kismet, as well as Charles Shaar Murphy and Floyd Hughes’ Purple Days, a homage to the late Jimi Hendrix.

All told, Revolver ran just seven issues, plus the odd special. Morrison’s Dan Dare would later appear in the pages of Crisis.
