In a future Marvel Universe, where Spider-Man’s daughter regularly saves the world as Spider-Girl, and J2, the son of X-Men nemesis Juggernaut, serves as a member of the next generation of Avengers, the Fantastic Five bursts upon the scene. They are Ms. Fantastic, the Human Torch, the Thing, Psi-Lord, and Big Brain. Writer Tom DeFalco (The Amazing Spider-Man) and artists Paul Ryan (Superman: The Man of Tomorrow) and Al Milgrom (Firestorm) do much to capture the spirit of the Fantastic Four and establish a couple of mysteries right off the bat: (1) What happened to the Invisible Woman, and (2) how did Reed Richards’ brain end up in Herbie the Robot’s body?
