Luke Henry was just a student at Columbia University when a man shining like a star appeared on his doorstep. The man, named Apollo, merged with Luke, imbuing him with the power of the One Thousand, a lost race. Apollo also tells Luke three secret words that will unleash the power of the First Man.

Before Luke can adjust to his new powers, he finds himself at the mercy of the lone survivor of the One Thousand, the beautiful woman known as Penumbra. And if that wasn’t bad enough, Monarch, the evil henchman of a creature known as the Overlord, has come to Earth looking to steal the power of Apollo.

Who is the Overlord? Will Monarch succeed in killing Luke despite his newfound powers? And will Penumbra prove to be friend or foe?
