The Iron Giant

The Iron Giant is a comic book adaptation based on the excellent, but poorly received animated feature film of the same name. This is turn was based on a book called The Iron Man, but since its name was similar to a Marvel super-hero. As the film was a Warner Bros. production (owners of DC), a name change was in order.

No matter. Fans of The Incredibles should easily enjoy this sci-fi tale of a kid in the 1950s and his “pet” robot named Hogarth (after the famed Tarzan artist Burne Hogarth), as both were penned by Brad Bird.
