Horror’s classic “movie monsters” aren’t quite used enough in comic books, which seems odd given the medium’s inherent “anything is possible” mentality. Aside from the occasional Halloween special or Chaos Comic that feature characters similar to the ones you feared as a child, readers really aren’t provided with enough monstrosity to fulfill their ghoulish fix—until now.

DC Comics Creature Commandos takes some of the genre’s most recognizable characters and teams them together in one book. Blending the monster genre with that of super-heroes, Creature Commandos tells the story of an elite group of covert commandos known only as Project M. While they go by different names (most likely due to licensing issues), the team is made up of such look-a-likes as Frankenstein, Dracula, the Werewolf and the Mummy. Using the latest in state of the art military weaponry, the group fights to defend the Earth from inter-dimensional monsters bent on conquering the entire multiverse.
