Ryan Alexander began her life as a peasant in the 14th century. She is raised as a boy in a harsh, medieval world, but that life changes forever when she is attacked by a dark stranger, Victor, and reborn into the world of the Others. Fast-forward to present day, when geneticist Dr. Susan Ryerson finds Ryan’s 600 year-old body in the morgue—then watches in amazement as she comes back to life. The more Susan learns about the mysterious woman, the more she begins to suspect that Ryan and her “Kind” are really vampires. But Ryan is not telling her everything. A limited series that is equal parts soap opera, historical romance and action-adventure, the ambitious and somewhat convoluted story by first-timer Kerri Hawkins is aided in grand fashion by the gorgeous art of Mark Pajarillo (JLA, Warcry).
