Not only has Ian Fleming’s fictional character become the epitome of an international spy, but, thanks to Hollywood, both the character and his tag–lines are an established part of Pop Culture. In addition, many of Bond’s adventures were published as serialized comic strips in Britain’s Daily Express.

The title story in this collection of those strips is considered one of Fleming’s best. Adapted by Henry Gammidge and artist John McLusky, it reveals a Bond so frustrated by his fruitless pursuit of his arch–nemesis that he actually tries to resign his commission. It also shows Bond experiencing true love for the first time (naturally, with tragic results). Also included are the story You Only Live Twice, an introduction by actor George Lazenby (from the OHMSS film), and a literary timeline and commentary by Paul Simpson.
