Ship of Fools (Caliber)

Michael Avon Oeming and Bryan J.L. Glass are the creators behind Ship of Fools, a self-published black-and-white space opera comic from the mid-1990s. Oeming and Glass are obviously ambitious in the story they want to tell. Here’s the synopsis from issue #2: “Mala and Shiro, notorious galactic criminals, were captured. En route to sentencing, they met the infamous Darius Trill and agreed to align with his insane ploy for freedom. The trio was joined by the mad poet Atlanta Williams. While behind the scenes…the ultrasecret Jet Black Illuminati plot the acquisition of the imprisoned Mala.” Ship of Fools is full of space-soaring action and the mix of characters promises to be an interesting series.
