G.I. War Tales

DC attempted to revive the war comic craze of the sixties by putting reprints of Star Spangled War Stories, the successor of Star Spangled Comics of the forties, and other tales out under the title G.I. War Tales.

After four issues, they gave up. Without strong, continuing central characters such as Enemy Ace or The Unknown Soldier, no one was interested in seeing World War Two soldiers and sailors battling dinosaurs on forgotten islands, especially if they had been done before.
