Before time began, a meteoric emissary, the very essence of evil, crashed into Earth. Over the centuries it fed on the souls of those who were lured to its dark powers.

Then, one day, a barbarian filled with ruthlessness and greed found the emissary, and shards of its essence filled the man with dark power. The barbarian became the prince of void, the spider god, the creature known as Rune!

Now the ageless Rune has come to New York City to continue his predations. But unknown to him, the malevolence that created him has risen again, and it is determined to regain the shards of its power, even if it means ripping them from the dark heart of Rune!

This mini-series also contains a flip-book Rune story in each issue, with art by the Pander Brothers.
