Paul Tobin and Phil Hester’s Attitude Lad is a cartoon id gone wild. He’s the horny devil at the bar who has no problems proposing indecent liaisons to any female in the room. He’s the guy who answers his door with a gun when a salesman comes to call. And he’s the babysitter from hell who loves nothing better than messing with the minds of his young charges. In short, he’s loud, obnoxious, and funny as heck.

Formerly at Iconographix, this 1994 title moved Attitude Lad to Campbell, California’s Slave Labor Graphics. He’s joined by the equally colorful Attitude Lass, hardened bartender-on-wheels Chesterfield, and the bodily function-obsessed Poodh & Boodw. A lot of the humor here is well beyond the bounds of good taste, but like the popular British magazine Viz, Attitude Lad manages to successfully mix the hilarious with the utterly appalling.
