Clean Dirt Comix

The mission of this late 1980s black-and-white anthology series is “to hit you with the freshest, primal, most intense pen and ink work known to man.” It would seem that there is an attempt to do this, but most of these pieces seem to be obscure for the sake of being obscure. The artwork ranges from sketchy and unclear to highly detailed and elegant, and there are some aspects of this endeavor that really recapture the spirit of the underground comics of the 1960s and 1970s.
