Demi’s Strange Bedfellows
(Re-Visionary, 2002-2005)
™ and © Re-Visionary Press
Film fans whose sensibilities are such that they can no longer get worked up over the lesbian vampires in Roy Ward Baker’s The Vampire Lovers or the tree root scene in Sam Raimi’s The Evil Dead may want to start reading comic books—namely, those endorsed by Steven S. Crompton, publisher of Carnal Comics. More specifically, Demi’s Strange Bedfellows, which is an anthology series derived from Demi the Demoness.
The stories in this castle-themed issue of DSB feature such unsavory (or savory, depending on your tastes) sights as a woman making love to a headless ghost, an evil sorceress with unicorn envy, and much more. So much more, in fact, that it was a bit of a chore to find a panel to scan for the family-friendly pages of CBG.
Demi’s Strange Bedfellows is for adults only, of course, and should not be read by anyone offended by fetishism, demonic sex, and the like. However, there’s humor in the mix to make things more palatable, and the art, especially the work of R. Vogel and Kevin Breyfogle, is nice.
