It looks like a comic book, but it’s more accurate to call it a fanzine, “the journal of Asian science fiction and fantasy.” Each issue includes news (covering television shows like “Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers”), feature articles (covering such heroes as the Kamen Rider, who has been a popular fixture on Japanese television since 1971), and shorter stories on Japanese movie monsters. There are also reviews of other fanzines and photos from other popular shows and films, most of which are staples of Japanese culture.

No fan of the genre, or more accurately, the culture, will be disappointed, especially since it’s clearly produced by and for fans. Some issues are in color; published by Antarctic Press and assembled by fan Ben Dunn and each issue’s various writers.
