Damon Eddington was a frustrated musician living in a synthesized world. Something of a “pet artiste” for the SynSound corporation, he grew increasingly bitter and despondent as his avant–classical compositions were coolly received by smallish audiences, while shock–rock by mutadroid rock groups filled Presley Hall to capacity.
Eddington decided that his next work would be a symphony of hate. To produce it, he recorded sounds of rage, death, and insanity in the rooms of madhouses, and in alleyways filled with junkies. But something was missing. He still wanted more…
Then he heard it… the sound of hissing hatred incarnate from a military recording of the Aliens. The only problem was fidelity. To capture the Aliens’ strange music of death, he’d need a live specimen. And, using his influence with SynSound, Eddington was actually able to get his wish…
