What is a “vampfire?” It’s a cross between a demon and a vampire, which makes it impervious to most things that kill ordinary vampires, like sunlight. Judging by this series, it’s also evidently a beautiful, sexy female who enjoys parading around in skimpy lingerie and exchanging caresses with other vampfires, even if she has to create them herself. Which is why Bethany, with the help of her angelic (literally) friend creates another vampfire from a dying mortal woman she names Echo. And the new vampfire is soon to learn all the joys of being one of the undead, and of having a “mother” like Bethany.

Published by Brainstorm Comics as a black-and-white mini-series available with multiple covers—including “nude” with a photo model—that’s pretty much the extent of the vampfire story. Words and pictures by Holly Golightly.
