Mighty Man

Many years ago, the wizard Fon-Ti gave humanity a champion—the world’s mightiest man, a hero who would fight injustice and set an example for others to follow. The mantle of Mighty Man was a gift, and sometimes there were lulls when the possessor of the power either refused to use it or lived in ignorance of it. Some even abused the power, using Mighty Man’s strength for personal gain.

One of the most lauded recipients of the power was a boy named Billy Berman, who fought against the Nazis alongside Superpatriot and the members of the Liberty League. However, after a long and illustrious career as Mighty Man, Berman grew old and careless and died, and the power passed on to a woman named Ann Stevens, a nurse who reluctantly embraced the role of super–hero, wanting instead a normal life.

Sadly, just as she’s achieving that goal—and balancing it with her more public duties as the world’s mightiest man—in this extra–thick one–shot, Berman’s grandson shows up, wanting what he feels should be his super–powers, and an all–out, old–school slugfest ensues. Heck, even the Savage Dragon joins in the fun!
