Linus (Milano Libri Edizioni)

    (Milano Libri Edizioni, 1963-1971)

Linus was a groundbreaking Italian comic magazine launched in 1965 by Milano Libri Edizioni, notable for being the first Italian periodical devoted entirely to comics as an art form. It ran for decades, becoming a cultural landmark in Italy’s literary and artistic scene.

Introduced Italian readers to Peanuts by Charles M. Schulz, which became a central feature. Published translations of American and European strips (e.g., Jules Feiffer, Bristow, Doonesbury, Andy Capp). Supported Italian creators such as Guido Crepax, whose Valentina debuted in Linus. Combined comics with literary essays, political satire, and cultural criticism, positioning itself as a serious magazine rather than just entertainment.
