Shorts (Pat Kelley’s…)

    (Antarctic, 1997)
™ and ©1997 Pat Kelley

This series’ creator describes it as “a non-sequential collection of characters and ideas that have appeared in Pat Kelly’s mind.” This black-and-white anthology series by Antarctic Press consists mostly of short, two page entries of a fictitious or autobiographical nature.

Hilarious examples range from “B-Movie Primer,” a step-by-step on how to create your own lackluster film; “Ask Mr. Ology,” a funny, if not partially true, testing of gravity; and a great adaptation of the “Three Bears,” with parodies of the X-Files’ heroes, Mulder and Scully.

The lack of story and substance in manga-influenced work is comically poked at with the adventures of “Supakick,” and “Breakfast with Mr. Leefeeled” will have the most ardent super-hero connoisseur rolling.
