Xena: Warrior Princess/Joxer: Warrior Prince
(Topps, 1997-1998)
™ and ©1997 Universal Television Enterprises, Inc.
Joxer, the somewhat cowardly warrior prince has fallen in love with the beautiful Nausicaä, princess of the Phaecians. The king of the Phaecians, concerned that the kingdom might someday fall into the hands of this rube, decided to test his would-be son-in-law with seven great labors. The first of these, stealing the girdle of an Amazon, brought down the wrath of the entire Amazon tribe. Only the timely intervention of Xena and Gabrielle (the temporary queen of the Amazons) managed to save him.
In this three-issue mini-series, Joxer attempts to fulfill his other labors, while Xena does her part to get him out of trouble. Like the television series, it’s a fun mix of mythology, action-adventure, and camp humor, which never takes itself too seriously.
