Originally appearing in the British 2000 A.D., Trash is a cautionary tale for our times. By 2050, the planet will have become so polluted that people are forced to wear respirators in order to take a walk outside. The World Environmental Protection Agency has been formed in order to clean things up, but illegal polluters still foul the countryside. Something drastic has to be done.

A renegade scientist launches an experiment to give intelligence and mobility to plant life. Then his experiment goes out of control. In the middle of Central Park, a strange organism calling itself “the Green” comes alive.

Able to insinuate its intelligence into computer systems, the Green causes all manner of disaster, from electrical blackouts to military disaster. And unless W.E.P.A. enforcement officer (or “Trashman”) Trask can stop it, the Green intends to end all human life on Earth.
