Originally a hit TV show on CBS, The Wild, Wild West was sort of like James Bond set in the old West. Its star is James T. West, a Secret Service agent reporting to the President. With his partner, the slightly bookish Artemus Gordon, West takes on all manner of bad guys using a combination of wits and high-tech gadgetry.

Among the villains they face is Professor Haselmayer, whose true identity turns out to be none other than John Wilkes Booth. Of course, every Sherlock Holmes needs his Moriarty, and West’s arch-nemesis is a midget genius named Dr. Miquelito Loveless. Loveless, a master of “biochemistry, physics, and electricity,” is determined to conquer the world—starting, of course, by killing West.
