The Centaur’s Tale
(Last Gasp, 2004)
™ and ©2004 Last Gasp of San Francisco
The battle of the Centaurs and the Lapiths is a classic tale from Greek Mythology, and here it gets both a classic and modern treatment… albeit somewhat more graphically than historians likely imagined. Piridous, King of the Lapiths, invites Centaurs to his wedding, and the result is a literal orgy of sex and violence that turns out badly for almost all involved. In the modern version, a motorcycle gang stands in for the Centaurs, and prove to be similarly rude guests. The two erotic tales are told simultaneously down the left and right halves of each page, although there is little difference in the action across the eras. Both feature a good deal of rough sex.
Written and drawn by Phoenix, this adults–only tale briefly touches on themes of female oppression and revenge, but it’s mostly about women having sex with Centaurs and bikers.
