This black-and-white title from Solson Publishing, artist Chuck Wojtkiewicz, and writer Phil Clarke rides the wave of the multitude of ninja and samurai titles that followed in the wake of Frank Miller’s run on Daredevil and his limited series Ronin. Here, the creators combine the ninja and samurai trappings of the comics of the mid-1980s with classic and pseudo-classic horror films to come up with such interesting tales as “The Texas Chainsaw Samurai” and “Samurai the 13th.” Yeah, it’s an unusual combo, but oddly fun.
