Nolan Augustus was born in the first century B.C. into an easy life of wealth and comfort. Jealous of his life, rivals plotted to destroy him and they succeeded. Left with nothing, Augustus resorted to crime. He was caught and sentenced to death by crucifixion. Mysteriously, Augustus survived his fate. He became a servant of the Dark Trinity, the evil of all evils. For many years he endured pain and anguish, eventually escaping. And the Lord rewarded him for his courage with the power of Stygmata! For nearly two millennia it has been his duty to protect mankind against all supernatural evil.

The power of Stygmata is hard to define because it is always changing. He can fly and generate force blasts from his golden manacles. This is where things begin to change. His powers vary in strength depending on how strong his enemy is, giving him just enough to defeat his adversary.
