Raver

    (Malibu, 1993)
™ and ©1993 Walter Koenig.

Raver is Norman Walters, a normal guy who occasionally transforms into a muscular, silver-haired guy in a red jumpsuit and blue trench coat. He transports to a different parallel dimension with each transformation, gaining a different super-power every time. à la Quantum Leap, his first priority is finding out where he is and why he’s there.

In the first issue’s experimentally plotted tale, Raver first battled a demon that crawled out of an ice cream truck. He was then thrown out of a fireman’s ball in which a beautiful woman had just metamorphosized into another demon. After that, he transformed into a baseball player to battle an ectoplasmic shapeshifter. Inevitably, he must confront the evil Dr. Izn, a shapeshifter who is the cause of both the weird events and Raver’s own shapeshifting.

Raver is a three-issue mini-series written by Walter Koenig (“Chekhov” from Star Trek).
