Legends of the World’s Finest

    (DC, 1994)
DC

The McDougal castle had lain in ruins for ages, sitting lonely on an island in western Scotland. Then one day, a young girl decided to adventure into the ruins despite her parents’ wishes. She found a book of magic there, which she was similarly unable to resist exploring. Perhaps, she thought, she would be able to summon a winged horse and fly away. Instead, she summoned a demon.

The demon was called Tullus, the spirit of a dead Scottish lord. Once loosed from the inferno, he called forth another dead spirit, the Silver Banshee, to possess the girl’s body. Together, Tullus hoped to break the curse he had himself brought upon his clan. But they would need help if they were to achieve their aim before Hell missed them. So they decided on a plan to “recruit” two champions: Batman and Superman. This limited series reprises their long-running team-up from the original World’s Finest title, but in a more darker, more fantastic style.
