Pardon the pun, but Mike Brennan’s Electric Girl is a light-hearted comic book. The series deals with the life of a teen-age girl named Virginia who can do neat tricks with electricity, like changing a traffic light by pointing at it or illuminating a dark room by touching a light bulb. Also included are her mischievous dog, Blammo, and an even more mischievous gremlin, Oogleeoog. Gremlins, of course, are the invisible critters who cause every mishap faced by people on a daily basis. As much as this one likes wreaking havoc with the family toaster, though, he’s more good-natured than most.

This issue features a new 40-page story. Characters’ misadventures are funny, but the story itself simply runs on too long. Readers would probably appreciate extra pages more, if the page count were split into two or three separate stories that better held their attention. The other story is a reprint of Virginia’s origin, which originally appeared in a trade paperback collecting earlier issues. Included at no extra charge, it makes this issue a good point for jumping aboard. Fans who like Sabrina, the Teenage Witch will probably enjoy this.
