Originally licensed by Marvel Comics in the late 70s, Mego’s toy line is revived by Devil’s Due in 2002. The three most popular characters from Marvel’s version—Commander Arcturus Rann, Marionette, and Bug—do not appear here as they were actually created by Marvel and not part of the toy company. In this makeover scientist Dallas Archer discovers a portal into another world. His son Ryan is then abducted and taken into a violent, dismal planet ruled by the evil Baron Karza. The Micronauts is the third entry—following G.I. Joe and the Transformers—in a series of heavily publicized 80s comebacks, the former also published by Devil’s Due.
