Zeet

Zeet is described on its front inside cover as “A little book of alphabetic dispositions.” That’s okay as far as it goes but it’s more accurate to think of Zeet as an alphabetic primer for the seriously disturbed. Not only does it start with Z (for Zeet) and proceed backwards through the alphabet, but the entries themselves impart the bizarre non-sequential absurdity of dreams. First of all Zeet is some kind of amorphous entity that is never quite described, much less explained. The first entry reads: “Zeet manifested itself out of Apparrliss’s left ear while the zeppelin was crashing into the zebra in her dream.” Well, that explains everything. Actually explanations are not to be found, nor would any suffice. This is an exercise in abstract stream of consciousness that must be accepted with no preconceptions.
