Battlestar Galactica: Search for Sanctuary
(Realm, 1998)
™ and ©1998 Universal City Studios
The never-ending quest of the Galactica fleet for the planet Earth was relegated to a subplot in this two-issue series. An attempt by an extra-dimensional race called the Somnians to escape their homeworld resulted in the presumed loss of Apollo to an unknown planet. The remaining warriors mounted a desperate search for him, ignoring for the moment their ever-present enemy, the Cylons.
The lush artwork of Chris Scalf is the primary enticement of this title. His airbrush paintings have a warm, soft-focus appearance that, although enthralling, possess a static, posed aspect. A gallery of his artwork fills out the issue.
