BattleTech was originally a role-playing game from FASA. It later appeared as an animated series on television, a virtual-reality video game, a line of toys from Tyco, and now makes its way to the comics.

BattleTech: Fallout centers around Bedford Beauregard, Hilda Braun, Lea Specter, and the other ragtag “Mech Pilots.” They command their giant robotic “Mechs” from inside, using them as huge armored warriors in the futuristic battleground of 3050. On the run after an attack on Somerset by the Jade Falcon Clan, they sought refuge on the planet Star’s End. There, Beauregard was manipulated by the pirate Morgan Fletcher into taking his crew on a suicidal raid. Unknown to him, however, Fletcher was really a pawn of the Jade Falcon Clan.
