The Natural Selection

As with many independent comics, the writer introduces readers to an epic storyline—which in this case is supposed to stretch over twelve comics and weigh in at around three hundred pages—only to have the story last a mere two issues. The Natural Selection presents the character Les who encounters a strange shapeshifting form in the woods. In a series of flashbacks Les’s life is revealed, but how he got lost in the woods remains a mystery. Only one thing is certain, a huge meteor is headed straight for Earth. This black-and-white comic is a mixture of surreal images with an X-Files feel. Writer Karl Stevens also includes a series of mini-stories in different artistic styles which do not relate to the main storyline.
