Berzerker

    (Gauntlet, 1993-1994)
™ and ©1993 Gary S. Carlson

Berzerker first appeared on the back cover of Megaton #1 in 1985, but it wasn’t until 1993 that he got his own comic.

Chrononaut Alexander Kirk is America’s first time traveler; the future, however, proves to be a dark place, a world where robots have enslaved humans and forced them to become cyborgs. After a failed revolution against the robots, Kirk is turned into Berzerker, a cyborg whose mission is to destroy humans. Eventually, Kirk decides to join the humans once again to save them from the evil robot emperor Anthrax.

The first issue includes the hard to find Berzerker story from Battle Axe Magazine. Also included is a nice history of the character as well as pinups by Erik Larson and Rob Liefeld before they were comics superstars.
