Red Tornado

The Red Tornado began his career as an elemental force of evil, later splitting into a good half (The Tornado Champion) and a bad half (The Tornado Tyrant). A scientist, T.O.Morrow, eventually created an android body which gave the good portion residence, thus creating the basis for the Red Tornado which we know today.

In the four-issue Red Tornado mini-series, Red Tornado undergoes events which change him in subtler, but perhaps more significant ways. An alien intelligence called the Construct caused public opinion to turn against him, while at the same time causing all other machines on Earth to turn against their human masters. Only Tornado was unaffected, but he now feels betrayed by the very humanity he had attempted to embrace. Will he rush to rescue the people who rejected him, or will he embrace his machine side and leave them to the Construct’s devices?
