Yaya Higuchi is the shy girl who’s been teased all her life because of her wallflower demeanor. Her parents’ unfortunate choice of names sure doesn’t help either. At school her so–called friends have derisively dubbed her “Yaya–the–crya” and use her to look good in front of boys. But even Yaya begins to dream of changing when she meets Moriyama, a fellow classmate who shares her love of classic rock (Led Zeppelin), and may not even object to her weekend gothic/Lolita cosplay socials—a guilty pleasure she’s kept secret from everyone in her life out of fear of humiliation.

That’s just the problem: Yaya’s entire life has been about hiding her true self—her dreams to be a singer, her opinions about others, and her desires to express herself. So how can she come out and tell Moriyama how she feels? All this pent up frustration has to go somewhere… why not another person entirely? Now the repressed side of Yaya is coming out, and she’s doing it with style!

Nana (the split–identity alter ego who appears whenever Yaya sees her own reflection) is going to make all of Yaya’s wishes come true whether anyone else likes it or not: be it avenging the shy Yaya on her fake friends, singing up a storm at a local punk–rock concert, or making the first bold moves on her crush, Moriyama!
