Howard the Duck: The Movie

    (Marvel, 1986-1987)
Marvel

Howard was just a normal Joe, a 9-to-5 working stiff. All he wanted when he came home at the end of the day was to grab a brew and zone out in front of the TV. The only thing extraordinary at all about Howard was that he was a duck…who lived on a planet of ducks.

Then one night, while Howard was sitting in his apartment, he felt the walls start to shake. Suddenly, he was propelled out of his building—and out of his world—crashing down in the middle of Cleveland. As might be expected, Howard was having a hard time adjusting to our world of “hairless apes.” Within hours of arriving, he’d been assaulted by punks and run over by bikers. How can he ever survive, much less get back to his home planet?

Howard the Duck was a hilarious comic of the 1970s but translated poorly to the silver screen. As a movie, it was one of the all-time Hollywood bombs.
