The New Wave

High above the earth was a secret space station operated by the U.S. Government. Supposedly, the scientists on board were researching energy-mass conversions. In reality, they were investigating the possibilities of reaching alternate universes. Led by a modern-day mad scientist named Cliff Pasternak, it seems as if they have achieved their goal. Cliff managed to trap a blue-skinned being named Tachyon in a special energy chamber in the station. Other scientists worked to release him, but not before the barrier between worlds was forever shattered. Tachyon was the first, but not the last of this “New Wave” of super-beings.

The New Wave first appeared as a preview in Miracleman #8 and DNAgents #9. It then ran as a sixteen page biweekly until 1986’s issue #9, when it became full-sized comic. By issue #13 in 1987, however, it was all over and the New Wave vanished.
