Mister X is an angst-ridden underground comic which has become a cult favorite. Mister X was the architect of Radiant City. A vast metropolis, it was meant to be the perfect city, fulfilling the grand ideas of its creator, but the ideal never came to pass. Radiant City is now slowly destroying itself from within, with its ruling class mired in decadence, and its citizens immersed in perversity and opium addiction.

When building the city, a developer decided to save money by installing low-grade glass in the windows of a skyscraper. That glass eventually shattered, causing the deaths of those below. Mister X, the architect, blames himself for the carnage. Devising a drug which allows him to go completely without sleep, he becomes a private investigator. His goal: to stop the corruption of his dream city.
