Shogun Warriors

These toy robots from the late 1970s come to life in a title reminiscent of such great Japanese horror films as Godzilla.

The robots, Combatra, Dangard Ace, and Raydeen, are manned respectively by Japanese pilot Genji Odashu, African scientist Ilongo Savage, and American daredevil Richard Carson. They take on Tokyo-destroying Rok-Korr, Maur-Kon, and many more. Both the Shogun Warriors and the monsters are gigantic, and as can be expected, they have colossal encounters while dwarfing metropolitan cities.

Relatively long-lived for a series in this genre, Shogun Warriors enjoyed a twenty-issue run.
