Kazar of the Savage Land

Ka-Zar became much more than a Tarzan-clone in the Ka-Zar the Savage series in the early 1980s. His urbane attitude and self-effacing demeanor portrayed a modern man comfortable, if not content, in the wilderness. Now in Kazar of the Savage Land (a one-shot precursor to a new on-going series) Lord Kevin Plunder and his wife Shanna O’Hara (along with Zabu, the sabre-tooth tiger) return from comics limbo.

The approach this time is more standard as it casts Ka-Zar in the traditional role of the leader and chief protector of the Savage Land and its people, tackling not only threats of the outside world, but homegrown menaces as well.
