Mortal Kombat: Battlewave

Malibu Comics published a plethora of Mortal Kombat-related comic books in the early to mid-1990s. Among them was Battlewave, a futuristic Mortal Kombat tale in which Outworld has experienced a change in leadership.

An evil warlord has come to rule the land of Mortal Kombat. His name is Shad Kahn and he has crushed any and all challenges to the validity of his rule. This causes the participants of Mortal Kombat to join forces in an attempt to halt the madman’s progress. Most of the most popular Mortal Kombat fighters make an appearance in this series including Rayden, Kano, Johnny Cage, Liu Kang, Jax, Sonya, and Sub-Zero.

Originally, Mortal Kombat was an immensely popular video game. It featured so many colorful characters that Mortal Kombat quickly became a comic book as well as a movie.
