British Children’s Magazines are sometimes of higher quality than you would think, especially with all the commercial tie–ins that are embedded in their pages. However, Redan’s Fun To Learn Favourites has become an award winning periodical that out shines even in the over–flooded children’s market. Fun To Learn was one of a select few which earned the British Independent Publisher’s Award for 2005 in the category of Magazine of the Year. With this series, Redan throws every major kid–related market into the mix and comes out with a fairly good product, touching each area with only a few pages but making the best of the short attention span. In a typical issue, you can find ties to Thunderbirds, Bear In The Big Blue House, Blue’s Clues, Dora the Explorer, Barney, Mr. Men, Marc Brown’s Arthur, Mr. Potato Head, Brum, and Sesame Street’s Elmo’s World. Primarily geared toward preschool readers, Fun To Learn nevertheless leans toward the Favourites.
