Lucas Hart was a washed-up writer residing in Los Angeles. He drank too much, he smoked too much, he took too many drugs, and whenever he shut his eyes, he fantasized that a little man with knives was tearing into him. Once the writer of a cult film masterpiece, it had been ages since he had been able to commit anything except pabulum to paper. But as far as his lifestyle went, he was a true performance artist—doing his best impression of a train wreck in progress.

Then his life took an abrupt turn, as catastrophe gave way to salvation. Lucas Hart was given a second chance and set upon a new path—to becoming a seeker into life’s great mystery.

This series strikes an autobiographical and spiritual chord for creator J.M. DeMatteis, the creator of the classic series Moonshadow.
