System Seven

    (Arrow, 1987)
™ and ©1987 Ralph Friffith and Mark Winfrey

After a plane is hijacked by terrorists, the U.S. government decides to activate Project T.E.S.T. (Terrorist Elimination Special Training), a group of super-heroes who’ve spent all of their lives under the supervision of the Department of Science and Higher Technology. As with many super-hero teams System 7 bicker with one another. In fact, there’s not much to differentiate System 7 with other super-hero groups as it borrows heavily from the X-Men and Alpha Flight.

Co-writer Mark Winfrey expresses nostalgia towards the unpretentious super-hero comics of the early to mid-70s in the first issue’s editorial, and System 7 certainly aims for a classic feel.
