The title of this comic is somewhat misleading since it features stories of American Indians. Several stories read as a plea for racial understanding as the Indians, working with honest cavalry troops and other upstanding settlers, thwart the plans of murdering cavalry troops and other underhanded settlers. Surprisingly, the innate integrity of the Native American is emphasized and promoted as the standard, while the settlers are depicted with less universal brotherhood.

The fact that this comic is a product of its times is evident however, as the Native Americans, while depicted as peaceful and civilized, are nevertheless cast in a role deferential to their “paleface brothers.”
